Presented is an antique, sterling silver salad or serving fork and spoon set made by Gorham during the late 19th century. This set is done in the Marie Antoinette pattern, which was patented in 1890 and this pair is old, original production. The handle is covered in swirling scrolls and beads. The spoon has an interesting spade shape. There is a bright gold wash on the front and back of the serving ends. A monogram has been engraved on each piece, ACB, in a flowing script.
The back of each piece is marked for Gorham and sterling.
This set is in excellent overall condition. The pattern is crisp and well defined. The gilding is bright. There are no damages or repairs.
The fork measures about 10 1/4 inches and the spoon measures about 10 3/4 inches long.
