Fabulous Gorham 47pc Sterling Silver La Scala Flatware Set Service for 11
Presented is a fantastic Gorham sterling silver 47 piece flatware set. This set is done in the elegant La Scala pattern, which began production in 1964. The set provides full service for 11, with a nice assortment of serving pieces as well. The knives have stainless steel blades in the modern style.
The set consists of:
- 12 dinner forks--7 1/2 inches long.
- 12 fish/salad forks-- 6 1/2 inches long.
- 11 knives--9 inches inches long.
- 11 spoons--6 1/4 inches long.
- single spoon--6 5/8 inches long.
Each piece is stamped with the Gorham maker's mark as well as sterling. The knife blades are marked Gorham, sterling handle, and stainless blade.
The set is in great condition. There are no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
For your convenience, we are including a good quality storage chest for the set, as seen in the photos. If you don't want this chest, please let us know and we will not ship it. The chest is a free gift and is not to be considered part of the value of the set.
The weight for the set, not including the knives due to their stainless steel blades, is 1869 grams or 65.9 regular ounces. We estimate that the total silver weight, assuming about 1 troy ounce silver for each handle, is 2210 grams/78 regular ounces.
