Presented is a charming little antique German 800 silver tea strainer, dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The handle is in the form of a man seated on a barrel and playing a fiddle, in keeping with the theme.
The strainer is stamped Germany, as well as the German crescent and crown mark including 800 for the purity of the silver and some Hanau style pseudo-hallmarks.
This piece is in excellent condition. The details of the designs are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece measures about 6 1/4 inches long.
The strainer weighs 61.5 grams or 2.2 regular ounces. -jm
