Fabulous Antique 1881 Russian Silver Twist Handle Serving Spoon
Presented is a fabulous Russian silver serving spoon. This piece was made in 1881. The back of the bowl of the spoon is beautifully hand engraved with an attractive design, while the handle is done in a spiral twist form. This is a well made piece, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is hallmarked with the Russian city mark for St. Petersburg, the assay mark of master Ivan Vonifatiyevich Yevstigneyev, dated 1881, the 84 zolotniki mark guaranteeing 875 purity silver, and the maker's mark AS possibly for Alexander Stockberg.
The spoon is about 7 1/4 inches long.
This piece weighs 85.4 grams or 3.0 regular ounces.
