Presented is a wonderful Whiting sterling silver soup or punch serving ladle. This piece is made in the Ivy pattern, which began production in 1865. As the name suggests, the pattern features a design of ivy leaves around the handle, surrounding an interesting imp mask design. The handle has a monogram of TAK in an overlapping style.
This piece is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The piece is stamped with the Whiting maker's mark as well as sterling and patent.
The ladle is about 12 3/4 inches long.
The ladle weighs 185 grams or 6.5 regular ounces.
