Presented is a fabulous set of 11 Spode salad, luncheon, or dessert plates, made for retail by Tiffany & Co. The plates date to around the 1910s-1930s. The plates are a rich cream color with white centers and raised white decoration, alternating with a pheasant design. The raised decoration is similar to pate-sur-pate work in its appearance, depicting a delicate floral spray. The pheasants are very colorful and detailed, showing the bird's plumage in pink, purple, blue, red, and yellow, surrounded by green grass and foliage, with each bird having a different arrangement of colors. The plates have rich gilt detailing around the central white portion and around the rims. Very attractive, eye-catching pieces.
This set is in great condition. There are no chips, no breaks, no cracks, and no repairs.
Each plate is marked Spode Copeland's China England, with a retail stamp for Tiffany & Co New York.
