Presented is a fantastic Georg Jensen sterling silver tomato or croquette server. This piece is made in the classic Acorn pattern, which began production in 1915. As the name suggests, this pattern features a stylized acorn design on the handle. The piece is well made, with the marks of hand hammering visible in the finish of the blade. This particular piece is an example of an older style of Acorn pattern pieces, with floral embellishment above the blade of the server that is not present on more moden pieces. These older pieces are harder to find today, so this is a rare opportunity for any silver collector looking to add to their collection. Great for serving pastries, tomato slices, or anything else you like.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some minor surface wear to the blade of the server, as it has not been machine buffed or polished to preserve the patina and hand hammered finish. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped with the Georg Jensen maker's mark, as well as sterling and Denmark.
The server is about 8 7/8 inches long.
The server weighs 104 grams or 3.7 regular ounces.
