Presented is a fabulous sterling silver silver small serving fork from Blackinton. This piece is in the Lotus pattern, which was patented in 1901 and displays lotus flowers, cattails and leaves on both sides of the handles, done in a flowing, sinuous style typical of the Art Nouveau time period to which it dates. Pierced decorations on the fork end match the handle well with an organic, naturalistic feel. The back cartouche is inscribed with the name “Maggie”, while the front cartouche displays the monogram HMDB.
The reverse is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Blackinton and the patent.
This piece is in excellent condition. The pattern details are well-defined. There are no breaks and no repairs.
