Presented is a fabulous antique porcelain box. This piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s, and is likely of French make. The lid is beautifully hand painted with a classical scene, I believe it's the Judgment of Paris (the youth Paris judging a beauty contest between three goddesses). The painting is signed Angelica Kauffman. The box is blue and white, with fine hand gilt detailing. The interior has an old paper label, dated 9/61 and reading “From ??? to Helen, St. Ludo, France.”
This piece is in good overall condition. There is some minor wear to the paint and gilding, but nothing excessive. Please let the photos guide your judgment. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The box measures about 3 inches in diameter and stands about 1 ¾ inches tall.
