Fab American Brilliant Period Cut Glass 15" Wide Rim Vertical Stripe Bowl
Regular price
$854.00
Presented is a superb quality American Brilliant Period cut glass centerpiece or fruit bowl, dating to circa 1880-1915. The bowl is unsigned, as is fairly common with ABP pieces, but the quality of the glass and decoration suggest a high end maker like Hawke's, Pairpoint, Tuthill, etc. The bowl is beautifully cut and frosted around the sides with a vertical stripe design, while the wide, downturned rim has a diamond cut design which catches the light dazzlingly.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some shelf wear to the underside, as you'd expect. The center interior has some minor surface abrasions, but these will not be noticeable if the bowl is in use, filled with fruit, a centerpiece arrangement, etc; even empty, the starburst design cut into the underside makes them less noticeable. The diamond cut design around the rim has some minor flakes to some of the points, but nothing significant. The rim and body have no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
This bowl measures about 15 inches in diameter and stands about 5 3/8 inches tall at the highest point. -jm
