Extraordinary Vintage Italian 18k Gold and Carved Cameo Pendant/Pin of Woman
It is stamped "750" for 18k gold and is tested and guaranteed to be as such. It also has the mark for the Italian city of Naples.
It was made circa the 1950s to the 1970s.
This piece features the form of a very lovely young woman with her curly hair done up and adorned with flowers.
The design is enhanced by the form of a harp, behind one of the woman's shoulders. Likely the cameo depicts the Greek muse Erato, but I think an argument could be made for Eurydice.
The piece is in nice condition. The line that is visible in the shell on the reverse side is not a crack. It is a natural striation in the shell. The clasp is working well. There is a retractable bale so that the piece may be worn as a pendant.
