Presented is a superb quality German 800 purity silver 25 piece dessert set. This set was made by Bruckmann & Sons and dates to circa 1900-1910. The set consists of 24 dessert spoons in an ornate style, with female figureheads and lion's head masks decorating the handles. The 25th piece is a large serving spoon, in the same design. All the spoons have a rich gold wash, suitable for serving and eating anything you like. The set comes in its original satin-lined fitted case.
This set is in excellent condition, it looks almost unused. The gold wash is all intact, and the designs of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, and no monogram removals. The box has some wear, but is in great shape and perfectly suitable for storing the set.
Each piece is stamped with the German crescent moon & crown as well as 800 for the purity of the silver and the maker's mark for Bruckmann & Sohne. The interior of the box is signed for L. Posen Silberwaaren, the retailer.
The spoons measure about 4 ¾ inches long, while the server is about 7 3/8 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 352.2 grams or 12.4 regular ounces. -jm
