Presented is a stunning 18 karat white gold, diamond and cat's eye tourmaline ring. This is a relatively contemporary piece, likely of American make. The focal point of the ring is a gorgeous round cabochon of dark blue-green tourmaline with a prominent cat's eye effect, also known as 'chatoyance.' The effect is really mesmerizing, the photos and video can't do justice to how it looks in person, especially in motion. The cabochon measures about 15millimeters in diameter, and is about 15.75 carats in weight. There are 20 diamonds prong set around the tourmaline, and they vary somewhat in size and cut, though this is hard to notice without closer inspection than the ring would typically get while being worn. Most of the diamonds are transitional or old mine cut, some are modern brilliant. The diamonds average about 10 points each in size, and are VVS to VS-1 clarity and E/F/G color. The total carat weight is about 2 carats, in vibrant, dazzling eye-clean diamonds.
This ring is in excellent condition. The diamonds and the tourmaline are all securely set with no chips.
The ring is stamped and guaranteed 18k on the interior of the band, nitric acid tested and guaranteed.
The ring is a size 8.5, with a sizer inside which your local jeweler could easily remove. The head of the ring is about 23 millimeters north to south, while the band measures about 5 millimeters wide at the narrowest point.
This ring weighs 16.2 grams.
