Exceptional Set 6 c1790 Chinese Export Porcelain Brown Grape Vine 9.5" Plates

Presented is a fantastic set of 6 antique Chinese export porcelain plates, dating to circa 1770-1820. The plates are white with brown/sepia decoration around the rim, in the form of leafy grape vines with clusters of grapes and little curlicues, very nicely detailed and well done. The photos don't do the quality of the decoration justice, the leaves and even the grapes are richly hand painted, down to veining and hand gilt detailing. These plates are almost like shallow wide rim soup bowls in design, with higher, more sloped rims than are typically seen on plates, but they are closer to plates than bowls in our opinion; of course they can be used however you like.
This set is in good overall condition, considering the age and material. There is some wear to the decoration, most notably the central design and the inner border, where the plates would have touched when stacked. All six of the plates have minor hairlines to the rim here and there, but only one has a hairline that extends inward beyond the footrim. A couple of the plates have minor chips. None of these issues are super noticeable, and overall the plates still have a nice ring to them when tapped.
Each plate measures about 9 1/2 inches in diameter and about 1 1/2 inches high at the rim. -jm
