Presented is an excellent set of 12 antique English china teacups and saucers, dating to around 1790-1820. The cups and saucers are white, with intricate gold gilt decoration around the sides of the cups and around the interior of the saucers. The saucers are high sided, in the style sometimes called tea bowls, typical of the time to which they date. Really a very handsome set.
This set of cups and saucers are in great overall condition, particularly for their age. Of the cups, eleven are in great shape, with no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The twelfth cup has a chip and fine hairline, visible in the sixth photo. Of the saucers, ten are likewise in great shape, with no issues. The eleventh has some crazing, and the twelfth has some crazing and a fine hairline that is hard to notice, due to the crazing. All are usable.
The cups measure about 3 inches in diameter and stand about 2 1/4 inches tall at the rim. The saucers measure about 5 1/4 in diameter. -jm
