Presented is a fantastic 3 piece sterling silver tea set by Black, Starr & Frost. This set dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. This tea set is done in a tapering octagonal vertically faceted style. The sugar and the creamer have a lightly gold washed interior. The teapot has a hinged lid with a classical finial. The teapot has heat stops in the handle. All three pieces are monogrammed with 'T' in gothic script. This is a beautiful silver tea set, clean and ready to use.
The underside of each piece is stamped with the hallmark for Black, Starr & Frost and with the word 'sterling'. The teapot is also marked with its capacity, 1 pint.
This set is in excellent overall condition. There are a few slight dings along the vertical corners and some slight surface wear throughout. There are no splits, no cracks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The teapot stands 7 1/4 inches tall.
The sugar stands 3 1/4 inches tall.
The creamer stands 3 1/2 inches tall.
This set weighs 606 grams or 21.3 ounces.
