Excellent c1880s Highly Decorated Sterling Silver Knife Rest

Presented is a fine old antique silver knife rest of very ornate design, dating to around the 1870s-1890s. The ends are done in a very intricate design with flowers and almost knotwork style decoration against a textured background. The central bar where a knife would rest is even decorated with machine turned engraving. A very nice quality table item guaranteed to make an impression.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is a little wear to some of the decoration along the cross bar itself, but overall it is intact and the more ornate decoration of the cross shaped end pieces is very crisp.
This piece is not stamped or hallmarked but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be silver.
The knife rest measures about 2 1/2 inches long by about 1 1/4 inches tall.
