Excellent Antique Danish Hand Hammered Silver Trefid 9.25" Serving Spoon 1932
Regular price
$153.00
Presented is a fabulous antique Danish silver serving spoon, dated 1932, by W & S Sorensen. The spoon is made in an excellent and iconic trefid end design, though with a bit more flourish and style than the trefid spoons of the late 1600s typically displayed. The terminal, in addition to the overall trefid design, has little beaded flourishes in the inner corners, and a stylish double scroll above the bowl of the spoon. This is a handwrought piece, with the marks of hand hammering making a lovely light-catching finish to the handle of the spoon.
The spoon is stamped with the Danish three towers mark dated 1932, guaranteeing a minimum of 826 purity silver, as well as an assay mark for Christian F. Heise (1904-1932) and a maker's mark for W & S Sorensen.
This piece is in excellent condition. The details of the designs are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece measures about 9 1/4inches long.
The spoon weighs 52 grams or 1.8 regular ounces. -jm
