Presented is a wonderful American sterling silver tea or coffee pot by Erickson. The pot is handwrought, with the marks of hand hammering visible in the finish. The design is very graceful, with a round pedestal foot, tall, rounded form, and elegantly curved spout. The pot is extraordinarily well made, with exceptional thickness to the silver and a nice feeling of weight in the hand. This is a smaller size pot, suitable as a bachelor style teapot or demitasse pot, with a capacity of about 2 cups, or 16 fluid ounces/470 milliliters.
The teapot is stamped with the maker's mark for Erickson as well as sterling, on the underside.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is a small abrasion to one side, which could easily be polished out. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The teapot measures about 7 inches from handle to spout and stands about 9 1/2 inches tall at the highest point.
This pot weighs 583 grams or 20.6 regular ounces. -jm
