Presented is a fine quality antique American sterling silver sugar shaker or muffineer, made by Watson. The shaker is made in a simple, elegant form, cylindrical with a bright mirror finish. The lid is secure, without being hard to remove.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is a bit of a rattle to it, due to how the caster is constructed, with the bottom panel having been separate piece, joined by rolling the silver of the body over the edges of the panel; this is not a damage, but original to the making of the piece.
There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Watson as well as sterling and a product number M66 on the underside. The lid is stamped with the same maker's mark, sterling, and the number M58. The caster stands about 4 1/4 inches tall.
This piece weighs 88 grams or 3.1 regular ounces. -jm
