Elegant Antique American Victorian Gold Filled Wide Hinged Bracelet
Presented is a wonderful antique American Victorian gold-filled hinged bracelet, dating to around the 1870s. The bracelet is made in a hinged cuff type of design, with an oval design of interlocking shapes and granulated beadwork for the focal point. The bracelet opens at the side opposite the hinge, with a tab insert style clasp and safety chain for additional security. A nice old Victorian piece at a fraction of the price of a similar bracelet in gold. The bracelet is in good overall condition. The clasp snaps shut securely with an audible click. There is only minor wear to the gold plating, with one section near the clasp that is not wear but a never-plated addition to re size the bracelet to a larger size. There is a touch solder repair to the beadwork along the top, and a couple of beads missing at about the 12 o'clock position. The bracelet will fit a wrist of about 7 inches in circumference, though it opens wide enough to pass over a hand easily. The bracelet is about 1 1/8 inches wide at the widest point. This bracelet weighs 54 grams or 1.9 regular ounces.
