Elegant Antique American 14k Gold Diamond Black Enamel Pansy Pin Brooch
Regular price
$1,503.00
Presented is an antique 14 karat yellow gold, diamond and enamel pin or small brooch made in America during the late 1800s or possibly the early 1900s. The pin is unsigned, but the style and quality suggest a high end Newark NJ area maker like Krementz or the like. The brooch is made in the form of two pansy flowers with black enameled petals and prong set diamonds in the center, on gold stems. The pin might be a mourning or memorial piece, given the black enamel. The diamonds are not large, but they are full of life and sparkle particularly against the rich black of the pansy petals. The pin back has an old C style clasp.
This piece is nitric acid tested and guaranteed to be 14 karat gold purity.
This piece is in great overall condition, particularly for its age. There is a chip to the black enamel on one of the petals, a very small chip to the petal just beneath/to the right of that petal, and two near-indistinguishable flakes in the black enamel of one petal on the other flower. The clasp is working well and closes securely.
Length: 1 3/8 inches.
Weight: 5.3 grams.
