Presented is a vintage, Dutch silver serving spoon made by J. Pluut of Holland in 1946. This piece is done in a classic Dutch Colonial style. The handle is done in an open twist form, with a woman holding a yolk across her shoulders at the top. The bowl is finely cast with a raised depiction of Rembrandt's painting 'The Night Watch.'
The spoon is marked with the Dutch Minerva head duty mark, the lion passant for 833 minimum purity silver, a date letter for the year 1946. There is also a mark for J. Pluut of Holland.
This piece is in excellent condition for its age and the designs are crisp.
