Presented is a superb quality platinum and diamond ring. This is a modern ring, likely of American make, but the ring is made very much in the style of Edwardian rings from the 1920s. The ring is bezel set with a modern brilliant cut diamond, flanked by groups of bead set diamonds on the shoulders and sides, even with two little accent diamonds abutting the central bezel setting, the ring sparkles brilliantly from all sides. The central diamond of the ring is about 80 points in size, and is a wonderful quality stone of VVS clarity and H/I color. We have carefully examined the diamond with a good quality Zeiss diamond loupe and cannot see a single inclusion. The shoulders of the ring are done in an elegant openwork design, each side set with 18 diamonds of about 1.5 points each in size, surrounding a larger diamond in a bezel setting of about 5 points in size. The front and back of the head of the ring are each bezel set with a diamond about 4 points in size. Counting the little accent diamonds above and below the center stone, there are 43 diamonds on the ring, with a total carat weight of at least 1.5 carats. The stones are all of extraordinary quality, full of life and fire.

The setting itself is finely hand engraved along the sides of the band in a classic foliate or feather-like design, and the head of the setting features the intricate milgrain finish typical of this 1920s era style, though it is crisp and vibrant as rings of that age almost never are. This ring represents the best of both worlds, modern in its condition and diamond quality, but with antique style and careful hand-craftsmanship. This is a much-loved style for engagement rings, and the durability of diamond and platinum make it even more suited for the purpose.

The ring is in great condition. The diamonds are all well set and intact with no chips. The details of the engraving and milgrain finish are nice and crisp.

The ring is stamped plat for platinum, on the interior of the band.

The ring is a size 9. The head of the ring measures about 9.5 millimeters north to south, while the band is about 2.4 millimeters wide at the narrowest point.

The ring weighs 9.0 grams.
