Presented is a finely hand chased, Southeast Asia silver round box. This piece was purchased in a lot with 13 other Southeast Asia silver pieces that were acquired by a man named Charles Vogel in 1905 in Burma. This piece is from Southeast Asia and it is very decorative. The lid is fairly large and has a big overlap beyond the top of the box so it is very secure. The whole piece is hand chased in high relief with swirl and geometric designs interspersed with small decorative medallions such as a fish, a bird and an urn design. The center of the lid has a full bodied foo-dog or bull decoration.

This piece is guaranteed to be at least .850 purity silver.

This box is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. There are a couple of needle-point sized holes to the lid, but these are only visible when you hold the lid up to the light and closely inspect. There are some minor dings to the underside of the box along the edge. There are no other breaks, no splits and no repairs.

The box measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter, is 3 3/8 inches tall and weighs 302.3 grams or 10.7 ounces.
