Presented is a lovely Durgin sterling silver sugar or condiment serving basket, with original cobalt glass liner. The basket is done in a classical English Georgian style, with fabulously hand engraved detailing on the foliate designs and pierced openwork that lets the color of the liner show through.
This piece is in great overall condition. The liner has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The silver has no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped on the underside with the Durgin maker's mark as well as sterling and the number 1302.
The dish measures about 4 1/4 inches from end to end and about 2 1/2 inches tall at the rim.
The total weight for the piece, including the glass liner, is 322 grams.
