Presented is a charming little vintage Italian silver snuff box or trinket box, dating to around the 1930s-1950s. The box is beautifully hand engraved with bright-cut decoration and scrollwork, catching the light very appealingly. The lid is inset with a colorful courting scene in porcelain, with little blue leafy flourishes at the four corners. The inside has a rich gold wash.
This piece is in excellent condition. The box closes well, with a nice snap. The engraved decoration is nice and crisp, and the gold wash of the interior is in great shape. The scene has some surface wear, but no actual losses to the color, chips, etc.
The interior of the box is stamped 800, for the purity of the silver.
The box measures about 1 1/2 by 1 1/4 by 3/8 inches, LxWxH.
