Presented is a cute vintage sterling silver and mother of pearl baby rattle, with plastic teething ring. This piece was made in Birmingham and is dated 1985. The piece consists of a sterling silver portion in the form of a little teddy bear figure, with a bell on either side, a mother of pearl handle, and a white plastic teething ring. A very nice and charming gift perfect for baby showers or birthdays.
This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the date letter L for 1985, and the maker's mark PH. The bear is also stamped 'filled' as it is not solid silver throughout.
This piece is in good overall condition. The silver portion and the mother of pearl end are both in great shape, but the plastic ring does have a crack in it.
The length is about 6 1/4 inches.
