c1930s Fine Porter Blanchard Sterling Silver Handwrought Stuffing Serving Spoon
Presented is a fabulous Porter Blanchard sterling silver stuffing spoon. This piece is done in the stylish Lotus pattern, which began production in the 1910s-1920s. As such, this pattern has an attractive Art Deco design, very simple and clean. This is a beautiful handwrought piece, with the marks of hand hammering visible in the finish of the back of the bowl. The spoon has a large bowl and a long handle, with a knob stop on the back of the handle so the spoon can be rested against the side of a pan. The back of the handle has a 25th anniversary presentation reading 1892 B W+F 1917. This is a versatile server that can be used for a variety of serving purposes besides stuffing.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is some minor surface wear, which could easily be polished out if you choose. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The server is stamped with the Porter Blanchard maker's mark as well as sterling.
The server is about 12 inches long.
This piece weighs 120 grams or 4.2 regular ounces.
