Presented is a lovely antique Arthur Stone sterling silver bowl. The bowl is made in a beautiful lobed or five petaled flower type of form, with a triple reed design around the rim. The bowl is very well made from thick, heavy gauge sterling silver, with a nice feeling of weight and quality, as expected from the Arthur Stone name. The center of the bowl is finely hand engraved with a monogram of B in Gothic lettering.
This piece is stamped with the Arthur Stone maker's mark as well as sterling and the initial U for Earle H. Underwood, active circa 1921-1927.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some minor surface wear to the interior, though this could likely be polished out. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The bowl measures about 8 1/2 inches in diameter and stands about 1 1/2 inches tall at the rim.
This piece weighs 383 grams or 13.5 regular ounces. -jm
