c1920s Stunning 14k Gold Sapphire Seed Pearl Bar Pin/Brooch

Presented is a stunning 14 karat gold, platinum, sapphire and pearl bar pin or brooch. This is an American piece, dating to around the 1920s. The pin is set with 11 graduated round cut sapphires, in a beautiful shade of blue. These are real mined-from-the-ground stones, very well matched in color. The sapphires alternate with 12 seed pearls, for a lovely contrast. Either end of the bar pin is tipped in platinum.

The pin is in great condition. The sapphires and pearls are securely set. The clasp is a replacement. There are no breaks and no repairs.

The end tips of the pin have a layer of platinum on the front. The back of the pin itself is stamped 14k, as well as a maker's mark of ES. The catch and safety mechanism of the clasp is stamped 10k. We have tested the pin shaft with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold. Only the clasp is 10 karat gold, the rest of the pin is 14 karat gold.

This bar pin is about 3 1/4 inches long.

This piece weighs 6.2 grams. The center sapphire is 3.1 mm in diameter. The smallest is 2.1 mm in diameter
