Presented is a lovely French Samson porcelain trinket or dresser box, dating to around the 1910s-1930s. The box is made in a very classical Samson design, with a red fish scale or latticework type pattern and delicate, colorful sprays of flowers, emulating Chinese export pieces. The mounts are gilt brass, for a very regal look.
This piece is in excellent condition. The box closes well. No chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The underside of the box is signed with a typical Samson mark emulating Chinese characters, and “Made in France.”
The box measures about 4 3/4 by 3 1/8 by 2 1/8 inches, LxWxH. -jm
