Presented is a beautiful 14 karat gold set cameo pin or pendant. This is an
American piece, dating to around the 1910s-1920s. The brooch features a
beautifully carved cameo depicting a pretty woman with her hair done up, wearing
a flower headdress and jewelry. The carving is very well done, with a lot of
attention to detail, particularly the woman's hair texture and facial
expression. The cameo is set in a lovely octagonal 14 karat gold filigree frame
with a Greek key design and applied foliate decoration at the four cardinal
points around the frame. The cameo has a lever catch style safety clasp, as well
as a retractable bail or loop, so it can be worn as a brooch or pendant.
