American piece, dating to around the 1910s-1920s. The brooch features a
beautifully carved cameo depicting a pretty woman with her hair done up, wearing
a flower headdress and jewelry. The carving is very well done, with a lot of
attention to detail, particularly the woman's hair texture and facial
expression. The cameo is set in a lovely 14 karat rose gold filigree frame, with
applied floral decoration in yellow gold at the four cardinal points around the
frame. The cameo has a lever catch style safety clasp, as well as a retractable
bail or loop, so it can be worn as a brooch or pendant.
