c1910 American Sterling Silver Hand Engraved Chased Sugar Bowl Tea Caddy
Regular price
$747.00
Presented is a fantastic quality antique American sterling silver sugar bowl with lid or perhaps a tea caddy, dating to around the 1910s. The sugar bowl is beautifully hand chased and engraved with eye-catching bright cut decoration and flowers, all nicely detailed and well done. One side has a monogram of SB in very decorative lettering. The lid is particularly appealing, with a very finely cast and detailed finial in the shape of a pineapple. The sugar bowl is quite well made, with a nice feeling of weight to it. The style of the piece is more in line with what you'd see on circa 1805 pieces, and this one is even stamped 'replica' on the underside, as it is a replica of an heirloom set from that time period. We have a matching creamer from this set available as well.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside is stamped sterling as well as a maker's mark and “replica” as this is a replica of an earlier set.
The sugar bowl measures about 4 1/2 by 3 by 5 inches, LxWxH.
This piece weighs 343 grams or 6.4 regular ounces. -jm
