Regular price
$864.00
Presented is a superb quality silver and gemstone ladies lapel watch. The movement and case have Swiss hallmarks, and this piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The watch case is round, silver set with 8 round garnet cabochons in a rich wine red-purple color. The back of the case has a four part spiral design, with a garnet cabochon set in the center of each spiral and in the center of the design itself. The watch face opens to reveal a little lever for setting the time, as the picture shows. The watch has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals in black for the hours and for the minutes in increments of five, with black tick marks in between. The hands are elegant, each is set with a tiny diamond chip for an extra touch of quality. The watch case is attached to an elegant spiral design chatelaine type clip, set with a rectangular amethyst and two round amethyst cabochons. This is the heaviest and highest quality lapel watch we've ever seen. The silver of the case and the clip is exceptionally thick and heavy, with a luxurious feeling of quality and weight in the hand. The watch is attached to the clip with a lobster claw style clasp clipped to a loop in the center, which has two more loops, one on either side, for whatever sort of pendant or decoration you like.
This piece is in great condition. The watch winds, runs, and seems to keep good time. There is a lever inside the movement that can adjust how fast or slow it keeps time. The stones are all in good shape and well set. The silver has no breaks and no repairs. The glass face is in good shape, with only the tiniest two flakes near one edge, mostly hidden by the bezel.
The watch is stamped with the Swiss bear shaped mark for guaranteeing a purity of at least 875, in at least four places: on the inside of the back cover, on the inside of the movement's case, on the stem, and on the lip of the case. Inside both the back cover and the movement cover is a stamp of 0,900 for 900 purity silver, and a serial number 18991.
The entire length of the watch and clip is about 4 3/8 inches.
This piece weighs 99 grams.
