c1900 Stylish French 18k Gold & Diamond Blued Steel Scarf Clip

Presented is a stylish 18 karat gold and diamond scarf clip. This is a French piece dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The front of the clip is set with rose-cut diamonds in silver, in a beautiful latticework design against rich blued steel. The top and bottom edge have a border of sparkling accent diamonds as well. The clip is hinged, with a spike rising from the inside of the back half, so it will clip securely to a scarf and stay in place.

This piece is in great condition. The diamonds are all well set and intact. The clip snaps shut securely. There are no breaks and no repairs.

This piece is stamped with the French eagle's head hallmark guaranteeing 18 karat gold, on both halves of the clip.

The piece measures about 1 1/4 inches from end to end, while the band of the clip is about 1/4 of an inch wide.

This piece weighs 8.4 grams.
