Presented is a gorgeous antique American sterling silver creamer with its original hand blown cobalt blue glass liner. This piece dates to circa 1900 and was made by Nevius, a New York maker. The creamer is crafted in the classic helmet form, with a band of geometric openwork decoration around the top and bottom, allowing the deep blue glass to show through the silver beautifully. The rim of the creamer has a bold beadwork design along its edge.

The glass liner is held in place inside the creamer with a little knob where the handle meets the rim. To remove the glass liner, hold the creamer in your hand with the handle to your palm, and gently squeeze on either side of the handle, along the rim. This releases the tension and lets the glass liner slip out from beneath the little knob holding it in place.

On the underside of the creamer's foot is the maker's mark for Nevius and sterling. The creamer is in great overall condition. There is a small chip to the glass liner, at the underside of the end of the spout, which is only visible when the liner is removed. The silver is in excellent condition, with no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
