Regular price
$1,144.80
Presented is a lovely 14 karat gold and intaglio carved pin or brooch. This piece dates to around the first quarter of the 1900s and is likely of American make. The pin is set with two octagonal intaglio carvings, depicting a classical Greco-Roman man's profile, very detailed and well done. One carving is done in black onyx, while the other is sardonyx, a little lighter and slightly translucent. the carvings are mirror images of one another, each profile facing outwards. The pin itself is done in yellow gold, with a ropetwist design in white gold and rose gold detailing, for a subtle but attractive multi-color gold look. The pin has a lever catch style safety clasp.
This piece is in great condition. The details of the intaglio carvings are nice and crisp, with only the most minor of wear around the edges. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs.
The pin is stamped and guaranteed 14k.
The pin is about 2 1/2 inches long. This piece weighs 16.0 grams.
