Presented is a fabulous antique English pottery and silverplate biscuit barrel, dating to the 1880s-1890s. This piece was made by Taylor, Tunnicliffe, & Co, though the style is very reminiscent of fine Doulton pieces. The body of the barrel is a cream white color done in an appealing stippled texture, with beautifully hand painted decoration in the form of alternating sprigs of berries and flowers in blue, pink, green, and gold. The lid, handle, and collar of the piece are done in silver plate. 

This piece is signed on the underside with the maker's mark for Taylor, Tunnicliffe, & Co in underglaze blue, as well as the number 1325.

This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are some little nicks to the silverplate lid and collar which you can see greatly magnified in the tenth photograph, but these are hard to notice in person, particularly if the lid is on. The pottery has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The silverplate has no wear through. 

This piece stands about 6 3/4 inches to the top of the lid's handle, or 9 3/4 inches with the handle raised. The diameter is about 5 3/4 inches at the widest
point.
