Presented is a nice antique Continental European figural silver spoon. The spoon depicts a saddled horse at the top of the handle, in a carousel-horse pose. The spoon was likely made in Germany or the Netherlands, between 1875-1920s.
The spoon is marked on the reverse with three hallmarks: One appears to be a Q in a pentagonal punch. The second looks like an 8 or S in a triangular punch over a T in an inverted triangular stamp. The third is badly stamped but looks like two letters. We are not able to identify the hallmarks. The spoon has been tested with nitric acid and we guarantee it to be at least 800, possibly as high as 900.
The condition is excellent. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The spoon measures about 7 1/2 inches long.
The spoon weighs 55.2 grams or 1.95 ounces.
