Presented is a wonderful 14 karat gold, amethyst and pearl bar pin or brooch. This piece dates to around the 1880s and is of American make. The pin is set with four square cut amethysts, gorgeous rich purple stones. Alternating with the amethysts are three real, natural pearls in irregular, naturalistic shapes. The pin has an old capped C style clasp.
This piece is in great condition. The amethysts and pearls are all intact and well set. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs.
This piece is stamped, tested and guaranteed 14 karat gold. The stamp is no doubt a later addition, but we have tested this piece with nitric acid to verify that it is indeed 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 2 3/8 inches long.
