c1860s Victorian 14k Gold Coral Rose Etruscan Revival Earring & Pendant Set
Presented is a lovely Victorian earring and pendant set in 14 karat gold and
coral. These pieces date to around 1860-1870 and are likely American or Italian
in make. The earrings and pendant are done in the Etruscan Revival style of that
time period, featuring carved coral roses and delicate gold beadwork and
ropetwists. The pendant has a three part dangle hanging from the bottom, each
ending in a little gold bead. The earrings have kidney style wires, suitable for
wear with pierced ears.
This set is in great overall condition. The carved coral has no chips or
losses. There were likely dangles to the bottom of the earrings in the past, but
we don't have them.
The earrings and pendant are not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested
them with nitric acid and guarantee them to be 14 karat gold.
The pendant is about 2 5/8 inches long. Each earring is about 1 1/4 inches
long, or 1 7/8 inches including the kidney wire at the top.
The total weight for the set is 15.4 grams. The earrings weigh 7.1 grams, and
the pendant weighs 8.3 grams.
