Presented is a lovely Victorian 14 karat gold, enamel and pearl pin or brooch. This is an American piece dating to the 1850s-1870s. The pin is beautifully hand engraved with intricate, bright-cut designs that catch the light dazzlingly, with a black enamel and seed pearl design in the center. The pin has an old C style clasp as well as a loop/bail at the top so it can be worn on a chain or cord, or have a pendant/charm attached.
This piece is in great overall condition. The details of the engraved designs are nice and crisp. The enamel has some very minor losses, nothing that is noticeable without close, careful inspection.
This piece is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 1 inch in diameter.
