c1860-1880 Elegant Victorian 14k Gold & Carved Hardstone Cameo Ring

Presented is a lovely 14 karat gold hardstone carved cameo ring. The cameo itself dates to around 1860-1880 and is of continental European origin, probably Italian. The cameo probably started life as a brooch, later converted into a ring.  The carving is white on orangey-red stone, probably some kind of agate. The cameo depicts a woman in a high ruffled collar in profile, very detailed and well carved. The cameo is set in an attractive rose gold setting.

The band is stamped and guaranteed 14k.

The ring is in great overall condition. There are only the tiniest of flakes to the carving, nothing noticeable without close inspection, let the photos guide your judgment. There are no breaks and no repairs.

The ring is a size 7 1/4 .

The ring weighs 9 grams.
