Presented is a nice Victorian 14 karat gold chain. This is an American piece, dating to around 1855-1885. The chain is beautifully made by hand, all the links intricately soldered and put together by hand. The chain has been cleaned to a bright golden shine. The chain has a modern springring style clasp.

This piece is in great condition. The clasp is a modern replacement, and it functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs.

The clasp is stamped 585 for 14 karat gold. We have tested the chain as well, and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.

The chain is about 18 1/2 inches long.

The width of the links is about 3 to 3.5 mm. 3.3 is the average link width.

The necklace weighs 16.9 grams.
