Presented is a nice pair of American coin silver scallop shell sugar or ice tongs made some time in the mid 1800's. These are in beautiful condition, in bright polish and virtually no surface wear at all.
There is a set of hallmarks indicating the silversmith D&K, a lion passant and the date letter "D". We need more information to be more specific, but we believe these are mid 19th century American, either New York or Philadelphia made, based on other pieces we have seen of this vintage and style.
