Presented is a beautiful cloisonne bowl, likely of Chinese or Japanese make, dating to the mid 20th century. The bowl is wonderfully decorated with rich floral design including roses, peonies, and other more stylized flowers in a very distinctive palette of reds, blacks, greens, blue and amber shades. The wirework delineating the design is gilt or highly polished brass, as are the rim and foot rim of the bowl. Very eye-catching piece.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no dents, no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The bowl measures about 6 7/8 inches in diameter and stands about 3 inches tall at the rim. -jm
