Presented is a lovely 14 karat gold and amethyst pendant. The pendant is prong set with a large purple amethyst in a unique pentagon or shield shape, beautifully cut and faceted.
The stone measures about 18 millimeters north to south, and about 15.4 millimeters across. It's such a distinctive cut that it is hard to give an exact weight, but it is quite an eye catching gemstone, at least 12 carats in weight, but likely significantly more. The setting itself is well made and suits the stone nicely. The loop/bail at the top is a snap design, so the pendant can be put on a wide variety of chain or cord styles.
This piece is in excellent condition. The stone is well set, with no chips. The bail snaps shut nicely. This pendant itself is not stamped or hallmarked but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold. The hinged bail is stamped 14k on the interior.
This piece measures about 1 5/8 inches long, including the bail.
