Beautiful Retro/VTG 14k Yellow Gold Purple Amethyst Diamond Pin Brooch

Presented is a stunning vintage 14 karat yellow gold, amethyst and diamond pin or brooch. This piece dates to around the 1940s-1950s and was made in America. The pin is set with three square cut amethysts and three modern brilliant cut diamonds, all in sturdy prong settings. The diamonds vary a little in size, measuring about 3.5mm, 3.8mm, and 3.3mm in diameter, giving a total carat weight of around 50 points (half a carat) for the ring, at a conservative estimate. The diamonds are vibrant, dazzling stones, full of life and fire. The amethysts are about 4 millimeters square, and are beautifully matched in their rich purple color. All the stones are real, mined from the ground stones. The design of the brooch itself is made up of interwoven scrolls, almost like a very stylized treble clef or the like. The pin has a lever catch style safety clasp.

The pin is in excellent condition. The amethysts and diamonds are well set, with no chips. The clasp functions well and closes securely.

This piece is stamped and guaranteed 14k.

The brooch measures about 1 5/8 by 1 1/8 inches. This brooch weighs 5.4 grams. -jm
